AND there's more to come! Who the H are the people that vote these idiots (Dodd, Franks, Reid, Pelosi, etc.) into office?

Like your blog and your attitude...probably because I agree with you so much! I had to respond to this blog because I felt so much the same on this day. Yes, we put a black man in office and for all of the black children and adults who wanted that to happen and who will now look at their tomorrow differently, I am thankful. It is just depressing that we put the WRONG black man in office. If it had been Michael Steele or Colin Powell, or just about anyone else who is experienced and has a more moderate or conservative mind, I would be less afraid and much more confident for our country's future.

It is an historical election where a black man was put into office with a large white voting population behind him. I don't think anyone can deny the progress we have made as a country. But there are major issues of racial justice, ecological sustainability, economic democracy, civil liberties, and social progress that hang in the balance. It's up to us, all of us who put Obama in power and dream of a better world to organize to make sure these things come to fruition. There are right wing forces, utterly ignorant and full of tragic nonsense, who intend to make sure that our vision doesn't prevail. But we have to be strong and realize that, as the election of Barack Obama illustrates, injustices that seem engraved stone are temporary delusions.
